One morning in springtime I was out walking my beautiful Great Dane on the local park when I heard a strong buzzing sound coming from the long grass. I searched for the origin of the sound and saw a large bumble bee trapped in the long wet grass trying to get airborne. I had read somewhere that in cold weather some small flying insects need to get warmed up before they can fly freely so I bent down over the bee and breathed warm air on it for several minutes while my Great Dane sat nearby with a wonderful quizzical look on her face, wondering what was going on. After a few minutes the bee managed to get the engine warmed up and it took off and flew strongly away from the park.
